The 37th annual event returns with a $25,000 cash prize and all you have to do to win is fish.
The tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24 starts at 12:01 a.m. throughout all of Long Island Sound and runs to Sunday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.
The grand prize of $25,000 goes to the heaviest bluefish, 2nd place takes home $7,500 and 3rd place gets $2,500.
In addition, there are cash prizes for 4th through 20th place.
The tournament also offers a "port prize" for the heaviest fish at each participating weigh-in station in Connecticut and New York.
Registration is $36 by calling 203-366-BLUE or apply in person at any one of the 22 registration stations around the Sound in Connecticut and New York.
The fishing tournament is open to all and kids are encouraged to fish as well.
The deadline to register (required) is Friday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m.
